Early History

Much of Fletcher's early history is unknown, although his calm demeanor suggests he was not brought up in turbulent times. Upon realizing his powers, he was sent to the very same Academy, where he would, many years later, train Edward Tohr.

For three full years, he trained his young pupil in the ways of the Lightning Elementalists, teaching him to unleash the power within himself. As he watched Ed overcome the challenges he placed, he realized that his student preferred to be as precise as possible with his manipulations. Realizing that his precise nature, combined with his electrical element made him a candidate to be a far stronger Elementalist than Fletcher, he only reluctantly imparted his final lesson to Ed-- the Forbidden Techniques.

His hesitance was proven correct as, mere minutes later, following a duel with another student, Ed used two of the three techniques, to first torture, then violently murder his foe. When Fletcher went to apprehend him, the younger mage's apparent lack of concern or regret forced Fletcher to prepare for combat. For whatever reason, that act apparently made Ed realize the severity of his crimes. As Fletcher moved forward to take him in, he was caught off-guard by a sudden, destabilizing wave of electricity. By the time he had recovered enough to pursue Ed, he had vanished into the night, pursued by the person believed to be the most powerful mage in existence-- the Academy's President.

Upon hearing of Ed's death at the President's hands, Fletcher began to lose interest in training Elementalists. Two years later, however, when a team sent to infiltrate a non-magical village nearby reported that they had found, and subsequently re-terminated the renegade mage, Fletcher realized that his star pupil may be even more powerful than they could have anticipated. Not believing the reports of his death, Fletcher awaits the day he next hears about an electrical Harry Potter lookalike.

Recent History

For three years after he heard the news, Fletcher continued to train new mages, knowing that they may be sent to fight Ed if he is rediscovered. However, he does so with a grin-- it's going to take more than a few recently-trained amateur mages to stop that particular thunderstorm.

One day, after finishing teaching a class, he headed to his office, only to find himself in the Board's signature bar, Moxz0rz's. Only time will tell how he reacts to his student's new companions.

He has recently begun teaching Silviyanna Marie Ambrose III.

Also of note is his ability to seemingly disappear whenever his former pupil is about. Most recently, this came in the form of falling into an empty universe while using the bathroom, a fate ironically shared by Ed not long beforehand.

Finally, after much waiting, Fletcher was able to meet Ed once again. Their reunion, although overshadowed by other events in the bar, allowed them to get caught up. Fletcher is now currently acting as a spy, reporting the activity at the Academy to Ed.


Master Fletcher, despite his title, is very easygoing. Cool, confident and collected, but not cocky, he feels comfortable taking charge of a situation, but respects the opinions of others. With a sense of humor similar to Ed's, it is no surprise the two became fast friends during their training.

Also of note is the fact that he doesn't drink alcohol.

Combat Notes

Unlike Ed, whose attacks involve subtle manipulations to produce great effects, Fletcher relies more on his creative nature to find ways to get past enemy defenses. While he, like Ed, is more comfortable with lightning-based attacks, he is more than capable of wielding the other elements effectively.

Other Notes

His extended lifespan has given him a broad perspective on life. He believes that, with enough time, even the greatest enemy can become an ally, and, as such, disdains killing.

Due to their long-term student-teacher relationship, Ed looks up to Fletcher as a father figure.

Due to RCA exposure, Ed's abilities have begun to operate in a different way from Fletcher's.
